Life’s Too Short

Radioactive Happiness!, originally uploaded by netsrot.

A co-worker got bad news about a very good friend who got struck down with a rare form of cancer and is in surgery today.

Another co-worker’s father died after a long illness.

It just makes me think that worrying about stupid things, the things that are of the “what if” category, is robbing me of my happiness.

“I’m too fat.” So what? You’re skinnier than a lot of people and you exercise regularly. You’re pretty damn healthy.

“What if [situation x] happens? What then?” Deal with it IF it happens.

I have a damn good life with a fantastic family and amazing friends. I have a roof over my head, food to eat, clothing to wear, beverages to drink, and people who love me. Anything else is extra. If it’s toxic, it’s out of my life. The good things, I hold closer.

It sucks that tragedy has to hit people you’re close to in order for you to realize that life is too short, and you only get one crack at living May 28, 2010. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.

I’m going to live, be happy and not worry about it.

  1. I am in full agreement with this. I really try to make it a point to see the good and humor in most things. Life really is too short to be miserable…especially misery that is of our own choosing.

Dump the toxic and laugh lots! :)
