I ran in the Race For Justice 5k yesterday, and I posted my best EVER time of 30:39. I contribute it to what I ate:
Saturday night dinner: Homemade salmon patties, organic mac & cheese and green beans.
Sunday breakfast: Cream of Wheat w/1tbsp brown sugar and 3 cups of coffee 1.5 hours prior to the race.
Granted, it was 45 and rainy, which as miserable as it sounds, are the conditions when I’m the fastest. I also hit the milestone of running an entire race w/o walking ONCE. And I did the Google maps thing afterwards, and it’s NOT a 5k (which is 3.1 miles), but 5.12k (3.18 miles), thus giving me a 9:34/mi pace.
Go me!

Really? Thought it was a certified race.

Well, it’s either they’re right or else both Google Maps and Daily Mile are wrong (and DM has a “follow the road” functionality for plotting distances using Google Maps). I’m more inclined to believe Google Maps…but it could be wrong.
All I’m saying is: I’m faster than ever!
