Veggies, Comments and Vacations
It’s that time of year where if you want to be a part of a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) share, you need to do it NOW.
Part of me wants to do one, but the other part of me is afraid I won’t USE all that produce. I should make a resolution to go to the farmer’s markets more often and see how that works before investing in a CSA share.

The migration to the new host went well (as far as I can tell). I also noticed when doing the transition that I’m currently at 999 comments. I wonder who will be the lucky winner and make the 1000th comment? There’s no prize, and I’m not sure if “winning” is of any importance. Just a milestone, I suppose.

I forgot I have a 3-day weekend coming up! My office is closed for MLK Day. I also might be taking a trip in February – but it’s still up in the air right now, so I’ll mention more when there are more details. Also taking a week off in March to FINALLY do the office redecoration that I’ve been wanting to do since I bought the house 4 years ago. (4 YEARS?!? Wow…time flies)
Hope you have some great trips coming up!

I had no idea it was time to sign up for CSAs already .. I wondered why people were starting to mention it on fb and lj! ha! It seems way too early to me!
I love the idea, but honestly I’m not sure I would be able to use all the food. Plus, not having any control over what you get sortof makes me nervous. I’m not a total control freak, but just enough that I feel like *I* need to be the one deciding what I spend my grocery budget on, you know?
And also, OOK. I hope I got #1000.
OOK! You are the lucky winner!

I’m with you on the control freak issue – I’d be afraid I’d get stuck with 2 pounds of Swiss chard and I would hate it. I just wish I lived closer to my parent’s farm so I could raid their garden on a weekly basis.
Eh, CSAs are hard. Sometimes you get a little of a bunch of things, and it’s hard to know what to do with them…sometimes you get a lot of one thing and you can’t possibly use it all (like garlic). We used Harmony Valley Farm, and I wouldn’t use them again because of both of those things.
