(I couldn’t find a photo to go with this post, so kitties it is!)

The past few days, I’ve been run down. Now I know this is due partially to that “lovely” time of the month, but I’ve also felt achy and lethargic on top of it. All I could think of was “great, I’m getting sick” – but instead of succumbing and feeling sorry for myself, I did the following:

1. Started taking Emergen-C daily.
2. Washed my hands with non-antibacterial soap and water as often as I could.
3. If I sneezed (which is often), I used a tissue, which went right into the trash.
4. I avoided touching my face. If I had to scratch my eye, nose or mouth, I washed my hands first.
5. Avoided hand sanitizer. That shit just makes stronger germs and makes your immune system weaker. (my opinion)
6. Ate a crapload more fresh veggies and fruits and cut out the bad stuff (for the most part).
7. Tried to get enough sleep.
8. Kept working out.

This morning, I felt great! Immune system FTW!

Now some of you may laugh at my methods, and since I didn’t get any flu shots, you may think I’m crazy. But, since I have a reaction to the flu shot, I’m taking my chances and boosting my immune system any way I can.

So, how have you all been fairing through the hoards of sniffling, sick people that STILL DRAG THEMSELVES TO WORK? So far, I’ve been good!

  1. Rock it, sista! I drink Emergen-C like it’s Kool Aid (which it ain’t). I’ve also been trying to get lots of sleep ‘n veggies. No flu shot…no flu. HELL YEAH!

I’m seriously on a mission because this is the year I’m supposed to get sick. I’m refusing.

Glad you are winning the war against the viral icks!
