R.I.P. Geocities
Personally, I never used the service, but today’s the last day for Geocities. In recognition of this day, XKCD has “redesigned” their website to resemble a Geocities site back in its heyday.
Seriously, it’s epic: Comic Sans, marquee text, animated gifs…takes me back.

Yeah, I was seized with this overwhelming urge to track down a bunch of animated “UNDER CONSTRUCTION” gifs and start installing them on my site.
It’s the Geocities equivalent of pouring one on the curb for my homies.
