This opens up a whole can of worms with the rankings, the team setups and the makeup of the Tour! Based upon what little information I have, I’m going to make my NEW predictions for the Tour:
- Floyd Landis (Phonak)
- Levi Leipheimer (Gerolsteiner)
- Alexandre Vinokourov (Astana)*
A note on Vinokourov, IF his team ends up being thrown off the tour (because a vast number of the riders named in the Spanish Doping scandal are from Team Astana) – then my choice for third is George Hincapie (Discovery Channel).
I still don’t think Hincapie has that “it” factor to win the tour, but in light of the recent neutering of the peloton, I think he has a shot now at the podium.
Going to be an interesting race, to be sure!
