I’m getting more and more frustrated with my new co-worker. She just doesn’t give a shit about getting things done, and done correctly. When I was at work for a half day on Tuesday, she complained about one of my people giving her ONE thing to do for them because they didn’t know if I’d be in (because I’m SICK). I even offered to do it for her and she refused and in the same breath complained about having to do it and how she’s stressed out and blah blah blah.
Not everything revolves around you.
She was on a different floor where she had major drama with another crazy drama queen that works here. Now that she’s up here, she keeps trying to engage me in her own personal drama by dropping little hints about her personal life and how “stressful” it is. I use stressful in quotes because unless it compares to the BlogKitten Level of Stress 2005 ™, I just don’t see the reason to bring that stuff to work. Especially since nobody at work knew about BKLoS2005 when it was happening.
I think she’s expecting me to fawn all over her and try to pry the information out of her like a good gossip hound. Problem is, I could give a shit. If she wants to tell me, fine – if she doesn’t, fine. I’m not going to lose any sleep over it.
I just got yelled at for asking someone else a question about a meeting that co-worker was supposed to set up and didn’t do it right. How is it my fault that she fucked it up? I can’t believe how incompetent she is!
The only reason I’m at work today – heavily medicated with DayQuil – is that I knew she was going to be out today (her normal “day off” each week, which is bullshit) and tomorrow.
I guess the only bright side to all this is that I will seem like the best employee ever. Especially since everybody’s shocked that I’m working today – I asked “who else is going to get this work done if I don’t do it?” Seriously. I’m a snot-producing factory loaded on DayQuil and I’m getting more shit done around here than she’s done the whole time I was out sick this week.
*blows nose*
Well, I just needed to vent. Mission accomplished!
